My Bestie's Wedding

Monica and Ric's wedding was absolutely amazing. My bestie looked so incredibly stunning and all of the details were so nice! It was Micaela's first time as a flower girl and we did a lot of practicing. She almost made it to the end but then ran back to her Grandpa. The mass was so special as the priest gave such a nice sermon and then off top the party! We had a blast dancing the night away!! Im so happy for both of them! Cheers to many years of happiness!!

RIP Grandma Pattison

Grandma Pattison has been really sick for a few months. Her and Grandpa asked the family not to come this 4th of July because it would be be too hard on her and Grandpa. Close to her passing she was sleeping most of the day and night and eating very little. This Thursday night she was received  in heaven. Her and Grandpa were married one month short of 65 years.

I met Grandma many years ago at John's college graduation. It was very clear that everyone respected her. She was very honest and I thats what I liked about her. You knew exactly what she was thinking. She kind and loved her children and grandkids so much. She always spoke so highly of them.  Dennis always spoke with such admiration of his grandparents. AT our wedding Dennis danced the mother son dance with Grandma and he said it was really special because she
hadn't been able to walk for some time due to an injury.

After Dennis I married we took family trips to visit them. Port Austin on the 4th of July was my favorite. Grandma and Grandpa worked hard to prepare for our stay. I loved hearing stories from Grandma. I especially found joy in the love she had for Grandpa. They adored each other and did everything for one another. They are such good role models for what a married couple should be. She was truly a beautiful person. This last year they came to California to meet Micaela. Dennis and I were so so happy that they were able to hold her. What a special thing to see the generations together. I know this journey is going to be hard for the family but especially Grandpa. I know Grandma will watch over all of us. Through her children and grandchildren her memory will live on forever. Rest in Peace Grandma Pattison.

Your Baptism

Today our families gathered to baptize you. The mass was at 2pm at St James in Redondo Beach. You were such a good girl through out but the mum mum crackers helped. Your Godparents were Uncle John and your Tia Vero. They both bought you special necklaces which you can wear when you are older. You wore your Uncle Jimmy's gown which is 25 years old and it looked so cute on you. We had lunch after at our house to celebrate. You are our little angel and you are such a blessing to us all.

Downtown Disney

Today we met my in-laws at Downtown Disney for lunch. Dennis and I had never done a day out like that with Micaela so we really did not know what to expect. We arrived at around 12:30 and decided to have lunch at the jazz kitchen. It was by luck that the Stumps were also there and they joined us. Micaela was well behaved but then I noticed she started to get a little fussy. I nursed her at the table since we had already given her all the milk we brought. It was a little awkward but I know Im going to have to do it every once in while. Aunt Tina then came over to hold her while I ate lunch. Micaelas eyes started to get heavy and next thing we knew she was out! She slept for 40 minutes in the stroller while we shopped around a bit. It was a great afternoon and our baby girl did great!!

Grandma Debi and Grandpa Mike

It has been so amazing to see Mom and Dad P become Grandparents. They have driven out from Murrieta once or twice a week to visit us but especially to see there little Micaela. They bring lunch and are always willing to help with anything they can. I love watching how Mom P does everything to keep her granddaughter happy she rocks, she dances, she sings and shh's. She has been so willing to learn and just taken so much joy in sharing every little moment she can to be with her. I had never seen Dad hold a baby. It was in the hospital that he said "This is my first Granddaughter so I want to hold her." It was so special. Now he loves holding her while she sleeps. He tells her the sweetest things like..how she is the most beautiful, smartest little girl. It's true that when a baby is born a Grandparents are born too. Micaela is sooo lucky to have Grandpa Mike and Grandma Debi in her life!
