New Years Eve 2011

Today we had late breakfast with Mom P, Chaz, and Shelby. We did did some reminiscing about Uncle Tim and really just chatted for hours. Finally we decided we would head out for an early dinner. We did not want Mom P to be alone on NYE so we thought this would be good. We decided to go to Lucille's since Dad won't go there anymore. We thought we were so sneaky doing this! We had a delicious dinner then shopped around for a while then headed back. My fam had invited Mom P over but I she just wanted to stay home.

We debated on what we should do for New Years. Dennis and I really wanted to spend a romantic New years alone since next year we will have a baby. We then thought we should hang out with our friends but it seems like invitations might become scarce as I get bigger and then especially when we have the baby. Dennis and I agreed that after the last few days maybe it would be best to spend it with the people we love the most...family. After all we have months to be alone and no one can party harder than my family!
Dennis and I made a stop to buy goodies for my Aunts house then headed over. It all started out mellow. Me chatting with the girls and Dennis played with the kiddos. After a little while the surprise Mariachi showed up. Im sure it was my moms doing! We danced and sang for hours! Jacob was so into the music and he would not stop dancing! It was so funny! We rang in the new year by hugging and kidding everyone! Then we sat down with our grapes. It's tradition to eat one grape per month of the next year. The are suppose to symbolize good luck and fortune. Dennis and I sat down with our grapes and made a wish or goal for each month. It was pretty funny because most of them revolved around Michaela. After that we all tried to guess each others resolutions that we had written. Then we played games, had a talent show, the whole time we cheered each other on to do the stanky leg, or the Clarissa! We made wishes for each other and for a whole you were only allowed to talk if the ceramic pig was looking at you! We had way too much fun. For a moment we all held hands and prayed for uncle Tim. This reminded us all that we mayb not make to the next year do we have to appreciate each other and love one another!

Surprise Mariachi!

Jacob did not stop dancing!

The Headless Horseman.

Tio Rigo battling the Pig! It's not just the kids that act silly in my family!

Finally at around 2am we all decided it was time to call it a night. We all had an amazing new years together!

2011 was a very memorable year!

January we started the year I San Francisco with friends and John and Michele got engaged! In March Dennis and I bought our first home. In May John graduated and that made 2 brothers from USC. The summer was amazing as the girls headed to Vegas for Michele's last single celebration! For Independence Day we headed to Port Austin with the Pattisons. After a few fun bridal showers for Michele the wedding just came in a flash! The rehearsal and wedding were perfect and honestly we all had the most amazing time celebrating J and M! September rolled around and I started a new year of school with really nice kids. We also headed to Lodi for my cousin Brenda's wedding! In October we discovered I was pregnant. In November we had wonderful thanksgivings and such a fun time sharing our baby news with family and friends! December we found out it was a girl and the family lost Uncle Tim. Truly a year of highs and a few lows.

I'm hopeful that next year will bring only blessings. I know that is not how life works but I am optimistic of the things I can control, as for everything else I leave it to God.
