Micaela's 1st Birthday Party

This year went by so fast and we were so excited to celebrate with  our family and friends. We debated on where to have the party but quickly we decided that Abuelita's house would be perfect. I was a bit overwhelmed with the end of year stuff to even think about making decorations and everything I wanted on Etsy was going take to long to deliver and just be so expensive. Cora suggested I hire her sister Megan to make stuff and help me plan. I am so glad I hired her! She did such a cute job with the colors and decor! She even came that day to help set up. I wanted turquoise and pink and some butterflies. Easy enough...right! Here is Micaela's 1st birthday celebration!

The custom made tiered table cloth was my favorite! I cant wait to reuse that!

Charla Blue took her 1 year photos so I was happy Megan framed them  for the gift table.

Dennis and I arrived super early to set up. We had already made two weekend visits to drop everything off. We rented tables, the big grill and the canopy. Megan and Ivette were there to help and it was a true team effort. The boys helped with all of the balloons. My Mom made the rice, beans, and salsas and bought tons of meat. Food was so yummy! I was so thankful my mom did so much. My mom- in law made her delicious fruit salad which everyone loved and they brought a big veggie tray and desserts for the table. The decorations took so much longer than we thought but the party was from 12:00- 4pm so we made it. A little crazy but thats expected when hosting so many people. I was truly impressed that everyone arrived on time. It was a beautiful day and we were ready to party.

Taco lady but we bought all of our own meat etc. They just grilled for 5 hours for $200.

THANK GOD FOR GRANDMA's....life is so much easier because of them! Micaela's are the BEST!

   Micaela was so happy the entire party. She slept until about 12:30 so it was perfect timing. She hung out with her Grandma Debi especially...but everyone held her and she gave lots of smiles. After food, jumping, and chatting we did the cake at about 3:30. Micaela wanted nothing to with it....that will change! haha I honestly got so emotion with everyone that we love singing together. So many loving and supportive family and friends make being parents so much better.

Dennis was so awesome throughout the whole preparation and during the party. It felt like a whirlwind and as if we didnt get enough time with anyone but I think that always happens. He was given me orders as to when to cut the cake and do the pinata. haha. The pinata was Micaela's favorite part! She watched all the kids and counted...tee..tee. Her madrina Kitty held her and she had a blast. After that most of the guest left. My family and in-laws stayed and we opened all the presents. She got so much cute clothes from everyone. Her Aunt Kitty and Uncle Paul bought her beautiful Janie and Jack clothes and her Grandparents bought her the car seat that I wanted. Micaela and her Abue gave an awesome performance to Tao Tao...her absolute favorite song. haha. The whole family loved it!

Micaela's 1st birthday party was so fun! I wish I would have had more time to chat with everyone but that is never the case. It was exhausting but well worth it to get everyone together to celebrate our beautiful little girl.  These past two years have been filled with so much love from all of my friends and family. Micaela brings so much happiness to our lives and I cant wait for more birthday parties!
