30th Birthday Bash at Fat Face Fenners

So I was not feeling well on Thursday night so I decided to take Friday off to get better before my big birthday bash! Friday was great because I slept in and ran a few million errands! This included shopping of course! That night Dennis and I cleaned the apartment for hours which kinda put us in a cranky mood.

Saturday morning and YES…it’s the day of my party. Dennis kissed me goodbye as he pleaded with me to go the SC vs Arizona game…after all it was the last game of the season. I said sorry, and fell back asleep. I was off again, to pick up the cupcakes, get balloons, and sandwiches. This does not seem like it would take hours, but it sure did!
At around 4pm..Michele arrived to help me get ready. I loved getting ready with her..I tried on my outfits and she gave me the thumbs up on a cute little dress I bought at a surf store. After this the boys arrived..finally. I finished getting ready and it was already 5:30pm. I wanted to set up the balloons at Fat face but Dennis told me to calm down and not to make such a big deal of getting balloons there. Needless to say I took it very personal and I was so frustrated with the fact that he did not want me to go set up until his parents arrived! I finally said I was going, and he came with me. This sparked our first incident in the car…not fun. The decor was simple and cute…and we rushed back.
My in-laws arrived and we sang to Mr. P since we missed his 60th birthday, we also gave him a Flip camera. The crew arrived shortly and it was time to go.
We arrived and Michele’s roomies were already there. I was so excited and could not wait to see all my friends and family. Slowly but surely by around 7:30pm we had a big group. The night was great, everyone drank, and danced away….or maybe that was just me..hehe! I loved that my mom, and cousins and my sister Karla and brother Jimmy came..after all I had never really partied with them! Fortunately my mom left early…haha. I did way too many shots but I still remember telling myself to stay composed! My knees did give out a few times and Dennis and Sean had to pick me up. I Loved dancing with Michele, Amanda, Karla, Mauri, Julio, Georgina, Armando, Mami, Mo, Cole and DC, Lisa, and Corrin, and Amy…the list goes on and on. I had over 70 friends there. I remember the bar singing Happy Birthday after they were instructed to by Michele on the microphone..I don’t remember blowing out the candles though. OMG…what a night!
The lights went on and it was time to go. I really wanted Paisanos pizza but D insisted we go home. We got in a can and got home in an instant. I remember getting into bed and then D being upset at me. The night did not end on a positive note as D and I had a heated drunken discussion. I wish I could erase that from the night! Note to self: do not attempt to discuss your relationship while drunk!
My birthday celebration was so memorable and I am truly so blessed to have so many friends and family that love me enough to drive out to party with me. I especially was grateful to Michele for being my cheerleader and photographer and just my big supporter through the party planning process and the day of. My husband apologized the next day and in reality he was nothing but a sweetheart from beginning to almost the end. He met with Gary the owner with me, helped me decorate, was a great host, held me up all night, and picked me up after I fell a few times, and even fronted a big bill!
My twenties are gone and I feel like I am entering a new chapter in my life. I am excited to see what the future holds…travels, a new home, a baby, a new career for my hubby?? Only time will tell what will become of me and my family.
