We made it past the first month...now month 2 just flew by! First I have to say I am getting used to being your mommy. I am ok with not sleeping a full night and I have learned to trust myself. You amaze me in the way you communicate with us. Your cries and expressions are different depending on what you want and don't want. Oh boy and you have some strong lungs!!! As a new mom its hard to figure that out but this month I felt so much more confident in understanding your needs. Its pretty awesome. I have mastered the skill of putting you down to sleep ...which is great!!! Your Tia Kitty taught me. You love to be swaddled and bounced to sleep. You get sassy and fight me initially but then give into the swaddle. I sing..."It's Swaddle Time..It's a swaddle time for Micaela...it's a swaddle time!" I of course have to "shhhh shhh shhhh" while I rock you. Your Daddy and I have songs we shhh to like Pass the Dutchie..hahah! Feedings are going much better..It doesnt take as long to nurse you and you are becoming a good eater. You still fightsme a little when I dont get let down quick enough. Burping you is hilarious...you get so upset. You cry and scream a little than lets out a huge burp. Your Grandpa Mike says she burps like a sailor. You also sleeping longer. This month I slept with you on the rocking chair almost all night every night and you would wake and feed. I call you my little sticker because you stick to my skin and I have to peel your little sweaty body off. I love that so much. Micaela you are so much more responsive now. We love your smiles and how you make eye contact. Daddy calls it sparkly eyes. You hate going in the car seat and the stroller and cry hysterically....so we hope that changes. We did not take you out very much this month as Papa wanted to keep you safe from germs until your vaccines. You are still so popular!! You have visitors every week so that keeps us busy. We look forward to more outings and to continue to watch you grow.
